I was going to ask about the bassist too! He looks like he is at least 100 years old! Wow!

hey tom,
did you post on this board last fall that vinnie would be appearing at the house of blues at the time? please, please, please, if you EVER have any other advance knowledge of vinnie coming through chicago let us (me) know.
by the way i am a good friend of chris clemente's. i have seen you a couple times at lyon's den. i will probably see you this weekend at roger's park jazz fest. i will be sure to introduce myself.
see ya,
peter

That's pretty cool Pete, that you 'won' the bid.
& for a whopping $12.36!
Let us know what you think of the vid.

Cheers Derek for that, some great shots of Vinnie. Good to see Lee Sklar aswell. He's been around for years, wasn't he in The Mahavishnu Orchestra? I remember seeing him with Phil Collins too...
It's a shame there's no way of saving that clip, I looked in temporary files to see if it was there after playing it, but no joy.

The video is a Flash file, so it's hard to capture and <s>rip off</s> save...

Rick Laird was the main bassist for the Mahavishnu Orchestra (at least during the Cobham years).

Lee Sklar played on Spectrum with Cobham, but not Mahavishnu.
